Summer 2015: Bocoup, CSSConf, TXJS, Roost, and You!

Even as unconscionable amounts of snow have bombarded the Bocoup Loft this winter, we’ve kept ourselves warm by keeping the sun in our hearts – and in our plans. Summer’s always more fun with friends, and that’s why we’re partnering with our colleagues Nicole Sullivan and Alex Sexton to bring you CSSConf US and TXJS this June and July!

We’re getting ready to go live with conference websites, ticket sales, and calls for speakers shortly, but we wanted to give you the lowdown on a few key dates and invite you to spend a bit of your summer with us!

We’ll be kicking things off with CSSConf on Thursday, June 18th and Friday, June 19th, 2015 in New York City! After two successful one-day CSSConfs in 2013 and 2014, we’re delighted to be working alongside Nicole to bring you a full two days of talks on everybody’s favorite declarative syntax for laying out websites! We couldn’t think of a better place to have a conference about <style> than right on Broadway, specifically at Caroline’s on Broadway, the legendary comedy club that’s been the stage for millions of jokes, none of them about using tables for layout. We’re going to set that straight and have a whole lot of fun doing it, so get ready for next Monday, February 23rd, which is when we’ll be opening the call for papers and starting our early bird ticket sales!

A few weeks later, we’ll be heading down to Austin, Texas for a few days of good ol’ fashioned JavaScript. We’re getting started by holding Roost, our two-day intensive on web application development, for the first time in the Lone Star State on Wednesday, July 22nd and Thursday, July 23rd, 2015. The next day, we’ll be helping Alex hold a revival – a conference revival! – as TXJS returns to the famous Paramount Theatre on Friday, July 24th, 2015 for a day of talks and discussion about the world’s number one ECMAScript implementation! Early bird ticket sales for TXJS and Roost will begin on Monday, March 2, 2015.

We’re excited to be involved in sustaining and organizing these conferences, and are even more excited to be bringing them back to the people who’ve enjoyed them in the past, as well as those of you who may be thinking about attending for the first time. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to collaborate with these Open Web leaders to steward events by and for the community, and we’ll be busy for the next few weeks bringing all this online! Until then, start checking your calendar, think about talk ideas, and stay tuned to CSSConf, TXJS and BocoupEd on Twitter for late-breaking updates.
