Working at Bocoup
Values-Aligned Environment
Our approach to client projects is an extension of our internal commitments to fostering an inclusive environment that prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of marginalized people at Bocoup and in the communities we work with. Our individual, and sometimes diverging, perspectives and beliefs allow us to have more thoughtful and comprehensive conversations around our shared commitments. Our commitment to these values is reflected in our current transition to becoming a worker-owned company. During your interviews, we make space to share what this means for folks who are considering joining the team.
Professional Development
Everyone at Bocoup is provided with a discretionary professional development budget for books, software, conferences, training, travel, or anything else that helps us grow professionally. Additionally, Bocoup invests in our ongoing professional development by providing dedicated planning and check-in time with managers, and by committing to a week of learning in our quarterly All Hands, which includes workshops on topics ranging from harm reduction to the history of the internet, sessions related to company health and worker-ownership, and a self-guided day for anti-racist political education.
Additional Benefits
As of 2023, Bocoup has shifted to a four-day workweek and our team is fully remote. As a member of the team, you will receive a computer and generous paid vacation time. You will also be eligible to participate in other benefits such as a 401k account, PPO or HMO health insurance with company reimbursements for your deductible, dental insurance, vision insurance, and paid parental leave.
Interview Process
We are committed to an equitable and transparent interview process. After you submit your application, you can expect it to be reviewed by the hiring manager and select members of the team. If it seems like we’re a good fit for each other, we will follow up and schedule a phone call to get to know you. From there, you can plan to virtually meet a few other members of the team for conversations tied to the role.
All in, you can expect the time commitment for this stage to be 3-4 hours of synchronous interaction, scheduled to fit your needs. We aim to accommodate different communication styles in our interview process, and don’t use tools like “live whiteboarding” for interviews. We can’t wait to meet you!
