One of the most important ways we accomplish our mission to move the Open Web forward is through helping and training web developers. To this end, we’re working to make open web education as accessible as possible via resources such as jqfundamentals.com, our public classes and workshops, and the Essentials Tours we’re bringing to cities around the country. With accessibility in mind, we set out to develop a training event that delivers a lot of value, but stays within reach of an individual developer.

Roost is a two-day event for growing front-end web developers who want to learn more about building modern websites and applications from JavaScript experts Rebecca Murphey, Ben Alman, and Dan Heberden. Day 1 covers the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the goal of getting you up to speed and feeling far more comfortable with this tech stack. Day 2 provides JavaScript-centric training on Open Web process and workflow. If you’re in need of the big picture, and want to learn how the pieces fit together into a deployed website or web application, Day 2 has you covered.

Roost will be held on December 3rd and 4th in downtown Boston, and costs $275 to attend the full two days (though early bird prices end soon!). Tickets for individual days are also available. I hope you’ll check out the schedule and topics on the website, and maybe register to attend!
