cypress evelyn masso (she/they) is a person, a facilitator, an educator, a community builder, a technologist, and an artist.
Originally from Shawnee land (southeastern Ohio), they currently live on Kizh land (colonially known as Los Angeles) with an unwieldy collection of plants. They like to talk about mixed identities, queer poetry, Paayme Paxaayt (the Los Angeles river) and all the ways you can be outside.
As a technologist, she works to create tools, communities, and practices that support access to open source technology literacy, as well as digitally mediated communities and collaboration. She has also grown and led competent, psychologically safer teams where folks have opportunities to grow with support.
She has worked at GitHub, Discord, UCLA Extension, and the Processing Foundation.
