Pay No Attention To That WordPress Behind Your Application
Over the past thirteen years WordPress has evolved from a simple blogging application into a publishing platform capable of supporting everything from high-traffic content sites to e-commerce storefronts, and WordPress currently drives approximately a quarter of the top websites in the world. With a robust, modern REST API, WordPress can grow even further: WordPress can be one component among many, a tool that we can apply to any application to which we feel it would add value. In January 2016 I had the pleasure of speaking at the inaugural Day of REST event in London, a conference dedicated to the WordPress REST API, where I presented our experiences here at Bocoup building applications which use that API to take advantage of the power of WordPress in nontraditional contexts.
